About Us

EDGELIOT is an Irish company established in 2021. We have designed, developed, and installed comprehensive air monitoring devices internationally, along with cloud-based software tools to track, analyse, and disseminate data.

Advanced Technology

Leading the Way in Air Quality Monitoring

EDGELIOT’s world-leading sensors provide real-time, hyper-local monitoring of air quality, including particulates, CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, temperature, pressure, and humidity, all correlated with wind speed and direction.

Features

Precision and Accuracy

By coupling measurements with wind speed and direction, we can pinpoint the exact location and intensity of emissions, guiding and informing policy decisions.

Critical Insights

We answer the key questions: Who is emitting, where and when are the emissions happening, and how much is being emitted?

Impact Measurement

Our toolsets measure the effectiveness of policies and actions to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Data for Change

Our licensed data can be published online, distributed, printed, or publicly displayed to help gain buy-in, approval, and ongoing support from citizens and stakeholders. We help provide the justification and momentum needed to sustain environmental initiatives.

Our team

Gary Mc Darby PhD CEng

I have a background in Electronic Engineering (hardware and ASIC design), Signal Processing and Algorithm development. I have broad experience in designing new innovative technology solutions to address real world problems.

I can still code (but I defer to younger, brighter more capable coders these days) so I have a good understanding of technology challenges in project development.

I am a real believer in technology being able to make a positive impact in the world. The Climate Change challenge is a challenge for everyone but like many things, the people least responsible for the problem will be the ones most affected by it. It motivates me to be part of a solution to this.

Larry Fitzgerald

I’m a broadly experienced electrical engineer and also software engineer, with master’s degrees in each discipline. I like to develop fit-for-purpose products with the potential to significantly affect the quality of life of the end-user. At Edgeliot, I perform hardware and firmware development.

I’m a Systems Engineer with significant exposure to the full product development life-cycle. Among my skills are:

  • Assessing the technical feasibility of selected technical ideas, ranging from very specific ones which are technically or algorithmically complex to those which are only available as abstract technical concepts.
  • Architecture/design of resulting systems and mentoring and guiding development engineers from development through to implementation.

I’ve substantial experience of Software Engineering, Embedded Processors, Mobile/Digital TV, Signal Processing and high-speed Networking/Traffic management.

As a man with grandchildren, I’m very aware that Climate is the important issue of the day, and I’m delighted to be in a position to help in some small way.

Subham Joshi

The majority of my work is on embedded systems with a focus on Hardware design, Test and Debugging. I also take care of the mechanical design of our devices keeping in mind the challenging environment the devices are deployed on.

I possess good knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python and Embedded C along with hardware design tools such as KiCAD, Rhino3D Design, LTspice .

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet, and working in this field allows you to be part of the solution. One gets to use their skills and knowledge to develop new technologies and strategies to monitor the emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change. The work you do in climate change will have a real and lasting impact on the planet and future generations.

Derek Byrne

I design and develop solutions to help combat climate change with technology.

Over a decade in Dublin’s startup scene honed my skills in algorithms, embedded systems, and wireless networks. Now, I lead the design and development of complex IOT solutions, focusing on bridging the gap between devices and a sustainable future.

My journey began with tinkering and Arduino, igniting a passion for control and hardware engineering. My Skill sets now include Control and hardware engineering, algorithms, embedded systems, wireless networks, and project leadership.

Driven by the urgency of climate change, I believe technology holds the key to a sustainable future. Witnessing the increasing impact of our actions on the environment fuels my passion to create innovative solutions.  I’m particularly excited about the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) to revolutionise how we monitor and manage our environment.

Theo Delettre

I am a full stack and AI developer, working on processing climate data and finding innovative ways to visualize it.

Climate change is the greatest challenge we face together. Being able to efficiently represent the impact we have at a local scale is the first step to understanding and addressing the root causes. By turning complex climate data into clear, actionable insights, through AI and interactive visualizations, I aim to help communities make informed decisions that can lead to meaningful change.
