Our platform measures the Carbon Footprint and Air Quality of an area in real-time using affordable, accurate sensors, Edge Computing Algorithms and transport layers that include LoRa and 4G networks.
The data is stored in a scalable Microsoft Azure cloud platform with real-time visualisation every minute of every day.

Our sensors
The EDGELIOT sensor layer is modular and includes measurements for:
1. Carbon Footprint Measurement
The platform provides a real-time measurement of greenhouse gas emissions every minute of every day. This data identifies the location and intensity of those emissions.
2. Air Quality Measurement
Each sensor provides an Air Quality Index (Biogenic Volatile Organic compounds & CO₂ equivalents (ppm)) to locate and measure sources of poor air quality.
3. Climate Risk Management
The sensor has a built-in Edge AI module which counts the number of exceptional events on location as they happen. The trends in these counts may point to areas most at risk of Climate Change as it worsens.
4. Noise Pollution
The sensor array includes a microphone capable of picking up the envelope of sound in the vicinity. It does not pick up speech so has no privacy implications but is useful when determining traffic volumes in a location.
5. Hyper Local Wind Measurement
Each of the sensors is installed with a Gold Standard Anemometer and all data is time stamped with wind speed and direction. Cross referencing sensors identifies the source location and intensity of emissions.
6. Infrastructure Motion
The sensors are installed on Telecommunication Infrastructure as these sites are secure, managed and in ideal places for radio signal transmission. The sensors have seismically sensitive accelerometers and Gyroscopes built in, which can capture motion of the infrastructure. This is valuable information for the Telecommunication Industry as Climate Change worsens.
7. WiFi and Bluetooth
The sensors have a WiFi radio and a Bluetooth LE radio built in. The radio’s are used for local transmission of detailed data and maintenance access but can be extended for other uses if required.
8. Environmental Monitoring
The sensors measure local Air Pressure, Relative Humidity and an offset Temperature (Temp inside the sensor enclosure). These measurements, combined with wind speed and direction can correlate local weather conditions with the local Greenhouse Gas measurements.
9. Image Capture (provisioned)
The sensors are provisioned to be able to manage two cameras (for very specific applications). A tailor-made design with cameras included is available for early stage deployment and trials.
